Disabled members are an integral part of the club & club life and are welcomed by Swarkestone SC. The Sailability Project has helped disabled adults and children find new levels of freedom and also encourages disabled people to compete in all aspects of racing and club life. The Swarkestone Sailing Club Sailability Project has a wheelchair accessible pontoon which has been custom made for maximum stability along with two hoists for getting sailors into and out of boats. These are manned by a team of volunteers who ensure peoples safety at all times.

Every Wednesday between Easter and October (with the exception of August) disabled sailors from across the East Midlands come to Swarkestone to enjoy our
excellent facilities. We have a range of boat sizes and controls to suit different abilities, plus helpers have the chance to sail along too!
Swarkestone SC plays an important role in the Access class calendar, having hosted large events such as the Nationals and Midland area
championships in the past. We also regularly host training events and welcome sailors from different clubs to improve their skills on our tactical waters.
