Like many Sailing clubs, there is often just as much fun to be had off the water! Swarkestone SC offers a full social program from Boxing day to Bonfire Night.

Easter Egg Handicap

Sunday 8th April

Fun and Games for all the family! Junior racing (both serious and fun) all day with chocolate filled gifts for all our sailors! Day begins at 10am.

Picnic and Play

Saturday 2nd June

Get a chance to improve your skills without the pressure of trying to avoid any racing. Many of our instructors will be around, so use the opportunity to gain some experience, plus bring a picnic lunch!

Swarkestone Sailing Club is completely run by volunteers. Every Sunday one (or a few) of our members brings their culinary skills to the tea bar and feeds the hungry racers as they come off the water. On Wednesday evenings people often group together to share a healthy meal after a hard

evening on the lake. On Saturday evenings throughout the calendar year we have various social events with different themes, from fancy-dress New Years, Moonlight sailing in September, making the most of the sun on the Longest day and watching fireworks over the lake on November 5th.

The tea-bar at Swarkestone is always looking for volunteers.

Unlike some of the larger clubs in the area, Swarkestone does not employ any full time catering staff, therefore all of our food is provided by members.

Each Sunday, we need people to sign up individually, or as a group to help out behind the tea bar which would include buying (at no cost to yourself), preparing and serving lunches of your choice.
